How did you get into jewelry making?
Ever since l can remember myself l loved making things with my hands, especially things l could wear! Initially l have studied Design Interpretation with a specialty in theatrical costume at the ery prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama (shool of ladies such as Elena Bonham Carter and Judy Dench). After a few years of working in the theater l started making some handbags that l presented to a local boutique and eventually l decided to concentrate mainly on my own line.
Statement pieces and bright colors are great for the Summer. How would you style your jewelry?
First of all, l am not a strong believer, of separating day, night, formal and informal wear. As a freelancer in a creative environment l have the freedom to dress to my mood and l love it! However, as a general rule l would say that l usually pair them with tees and jeans for day and dresse for night.
You separate your time between Athens and Amorgos. Do you get inspiration from the street style there?
The two places could not be more different: Athens is busy, noisy and difficult to live at time but still beautiful in a very unique way (a greek novelist l like Soti Triantafyllou once said “Athens is like these stray dogs that are so ugly at the point of being adorable” that pretty sums it up!) On the other hand Amorgos is all the positive associations about Greece being such a beautiful country, times ten. Glowing sun, clear blue sea, tiny white houses, bougainvilleas and the luxury of sleeping with your front door unlocked. Sharing my time between these two places, plus travelling as much as l can is definitely stimulating.
